Dental Implants
Crowns and conventional bridges or dentures may not be your only options when replacing missing teeth. For some people, dental implants provide greater success and patient satisfaction for a smile that looks and feels very natural.
A dental implant is a small, sturdy, titanium post that provides the same function as your natural tooth root. Surgically placed into the jaw bone below the gums over a series of appointments, implants fuse to the jawbone. After the bone has grown around the implant, implants can hold a crown, bridge or over-denture just like roots hold natural teeth in place. Implants are very durable and can last a lifetime.
A single tooth or a full arch of teeth which have been lost due to injury or disease can be replaced with dental implants. Titanium metal is used because of its compatibility with bone and oral tissues. They require the same maintenance as natural teeth: brushing, flossing and regular dental check-ups.
The photos below show examples of a missing tooth replaced with an implant and a series of teeth lost in a car accident replaced with porcelain crowns anchored with implants.
Permanent Dental Implants
Porcelain veneers, crowns, or Teeth Whitening may also be required to correct your specific needs.
